Girl Torque Auctions: Our Two Course Donations Raise in the Region of £2,000 for Charity

Open Road Training Ltd was delighted to donate two courses to the Girl Torque charity auctions: a full Transport Manager CPC course and an ADR course. Together, the auctions raised in the region of £2,000 for some amazing charities.

That fundraising result belongs to the people who took part. To everyone who bid, and especially to the winning bidders: thank you. Your generosity helped turn two training places into support for good causes.

And if you placed a bid but didn’t win, please read on. There may still be a way to take up a course and support the charity. Get in touch with us and we’ll see what we can do, and we’ll still donate to the charity.

1. What did Open Road Training donate?

The two auction prizes were training courses for people working in transport and logistics. One was a full Transport Manager CPC course, and the other was an ADR dangerous goods driver training course.

1.1 Full Transport Manager CPC training

The Transport Manager CPC course is full training for people working towards a Transport Manager CPC. Transport managers have an important role in helping operators understand their responsibilities and manage their transport activities properly.

It is a substantial course, with plenty to learn and plenty to discuss. A notebook is useful; a good supply of tea is never a bad idea either.

1.2 ADR dangerous goods driver training

The ADR course is five-day dangerous goods driver training. The programme is organised around the following topics:

Day Course topic
Monday Core
Tuesday Packages
Wednesday Tanks
Thursday Classes
Friday Exam Day

The course gives learners a structured week of training covering these areas. The winning bidder can get in touch with us to discuss course arrangements and the available dates.

2. Congratulations to the winning bidders

A big well done to those who won the auctions. We hope you enjoy your courses and find them useful in your work and development.

When you’re ready to plan, you can check our published course dates. ADR courses run every month, and full Transport Manager CPC courses are scheduled for November 2026. That gives our winners dates to consider and a straightforward way to start planning.

If you’re unsure which date or course arrangement suits you, contact us. We’ll be happy to talk through the options. You don’t need to have every detail sorted before you get in touch.

3. Bid but didn’t win? There may still be a second chance

If you bid on one of the courses but weren’t the successful bidder, please don’t assume that’s the end of the story.

Get in touch with Open Road Training. We’ll see what we can do, and we’ll still donate to the charity. We’d like to find a way to help where we can, while keeping support flowing to the cause.

There’s no pressure and no need to make a decision before speaking to us. Just tell us which course you were interested in and that you placed a bid. We can then discuss what may be possible.

You can call 01698 598 665 or email info@open-road.org. We’ll be glad to hear from you.

4. Why we’re pleased to support Girl Torque

Girl Torque supports women in transport and automotive. We’re proud to support an organisation that celebrates women in the industry and helps bring the transport community together around charitable causes.

Our sector depends on people in many different roles: drivers, transport managers, administrators and others who keep vehicles, teams and businesses moving. When people across the industry support one another, the whole community benefits.

This auction was a lovely example of that spirit. We were able to contribute two training courses; bidders chose to support the auction; and the fundraising helped raise in the region of £2,000 for some amazing charities. It’s a result worth celebrating.

5. Thank you for helping make it happen

To everyone who bid: thank you for taking part. To the winning bidders: congratulations, and we look forward to helping you plan your courses. And if you bid but didn’t win, please get in touch. We’ll see what we can do, and we’ll still donate to the charity.
