Know where you stand before someone else tells you

Alongside our training, we provide in-house audits for transport companies — to help you stay one step ahead and stay compliant. An audit is simply an honest look at your operation by someone who knows what a Traffic Commissioner looks for, done before it matters.

What we look at

  • Drivers' hours and tachograph records — missing mileage, manual entries, infringements and how they're being handled.
  • Maintenance systems — inspection intervals, safety inspection records, brake testing and the paper trail behind them.
  • Daily walk-around checks — whether defects are being reported, rectified and recorded properly.
  • Driver licensing and CPC — licence checks, DQC expiry dates and periodic training hours.
  • Operator Licence conditions — vehicle numbers, operating centres, advertisements and undertakings.
  • Documentation and retention — whether you could produce the records if they were asked for tomorrow.

How an audit runs

  1. Scoping call. Fleet size, licence type, what's worrying you and what's prompted the audit.
  2. On site. We come to you, review the systems and the records, and talk to the people who run them.
  3. Findings. A clear picture of what's solid, what needs attention and what needs fixing now.
  4. What to do about it. Practical actions, in order of priority, that fit how your business actually works.

Why operators book one

  • Preparing for a Public Inquiry, or acting on undertakings already given
  • A new Transport Manager wanting to know what they've inherited
  • Rapid growth that outgrew the old way of doing things
  • Directors who want reassurance rather than assumption
  • Simply staying ahead, which is always cheaper than catching up

Training and audit together

An audit often points to a training need — a Transport Manager refresher, an OLAT day for the directors, or Driver CPC modules on tachographs and drivers' hours. We can cover both, which means the fix follows the finding.

An audit costs a fraction of what a licence problem does. Let's have a conversation.
